Last week brought one of our favorite meetings of the year which showcased the final trend report regarding home values within the greater San Antonio area in 2018 and predictions for the 2019 marketplace. We greatly appreciated a wonderful presentation from Bob Gardner of Gardner Franchise Inc. and Christian Peter Chacon of Legacy Mutual Mortgage, sharing a wealth of knowledge.
Among the 2018 sales trends, statistics and months inventory, here are the big-ticket items we wanted to share with you:
The median price for a single family home in 2018 is $223,000
This is a 4.9% increase from 2017
The price per square footage is appreciating in the majority of San Antonio neighborhoods including:
- Alamo Heights has increased by 26.2% since 2008
- Stone Oak has increased by 25.7% since 2008
- Encino Park has increased by 43.7% since 2008
So what does this data mean to you? Today’s real estate market is trending upwards and on pace to continue increasing in price. If you want to buy a home, don’t wait. Call our office today to discuss your dream neighborhood and how we can help you move there.
