Port Aransas Community Theatre
For great things to do in Port Aransas, PACT is somewhere you don't want to miss out on. They host amazing performances all year round. Tickets to the next show, Disney’s The Lion King Jr., are on sale now, with various dates to choose from between July 20th and August 6th.
They also host creative events and tournaments!
Port Aransas Art Centre
Similarly to the Community Theatre, Port Aransas Art Centre is another of the town's creative hubs. Here, you can find all kinds of art classes to keep you busy.
It's the best place to go if you're looking to nurture a new hobby or hone in on your creative skills. With a calendar full of watercolor, pastel, mixed media, family fun art and drop in and draw sessions, you're spoilt for choice!
There's even a Youth Artists Summer Camp being held to keep the kids feeling artsy too!
Roberts Point Park
This charming 50-acre park has plenty to see and do.
Arguably the nicest park in Port Aransas, you’ll find a lighted fishing pier, granite jetties, peaceful trails and an observation tower.
Relax and watch the boats on the water from one of the many park benches and pack a picnic too. On occasion, there are outdoor movie screenings, performances and local events in the pavilion you can catch.
Try your luck at fishing and check out the view from the observation tower. You might spot some dolphins!
Overall, Roberts Point Park makes for a great afternoon destination.
Port Aransas Nature Preserve at Charlie's Pasture
There are plenty of things to do at Port Aransas Nature Preserve for both locals and visitors.
On Wednesdays at 9 am this summer, there's free boardwalk birding to take part in. Everyone is encouraged to come along and take part.
You can get within 50 feet or less of all kinds of species of shorebird, such as pelicans, herons and ducks.
There's loads of parking available and there are lots different trails you can explore.In addition, there are marked roads you can drive down to view wildlife up close. Deer, wild boar and alligators are among some of the exciting wildlife you can catch a glimpse of on your day out. We recommend you stay for at least an hour to get the most out of your trip.
Shelling On San José Island
If you're looking for a quieter beach to stroll and pick up shells on, the pristine beaches of this uninhabited island are open to the public.
Boasting over 600 species of native fish and over 300 species of birds, this is the perfect escape for nature enthusiasts or even people who just need a break from the hustle and bustle of the modern world.
Comb the beach, go fishing and enjoy the sun - there's so much to do in this beautiful place!
