San Antonio is the 7th largest city in the U.S. Located in Bexar County (pronounced BEAR), the city is part of a Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) comprised of 5 counties: Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall and Wilson counties with a total population of just over 1.5 million which is projected to grow at an average of 1.5% to 2.3% through the year 2010. 

San Antonio has a unique position centrally located between the east and west coasts, and to other cities across the United States, Mexico, Canada, Central and South America. North/South and East/West interstate highways connect San Antonio to major population centers. 

According to the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau, the city is visited by 26 million tourists per year. The Alamo and its grounds rank as the most popular tourist destination in Texas.

The city is also home to Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Sea World theme parks. San Antonio boasts a nationally acclaimed symphony, the spectacular Majestic Theater and several major museums.

San Antonio offers an attractive, affordable lifestyle. Families find it easier to buy a home in San Antonio than many other cities across the country. San Antonio has all the amenities of an urban area, plus the attraction of the fabulous Texas Hill Country nearby. There are 5 lakes within one hour of the city.
