There are plenty of bars in downtown and one for every type. Lounges, sports bars, cocktail-based bars, beer bars, wine dives there’s plenty of options out there, but one on the Riverwalk does stand out: Swig Martini Bar. Martinis are, for cocktail lovers, a bit of a contentious issue: dry or sweet vermouth, gin or vodka and the battle lines are drawn in the sand and passionately defended. The menu at Swig does not disappoint and it perfectly fits martini lovers of all types. Both gin and vodka martinis are available as well as Vesper martinis, Dirty Martinis and many more. 

Swig has a spacious interior and a cigar-friendly patio. The décor is bright but cool, there’s an approachable but high end feeling to the space. The menu or should I say menus at Swig are huge. The menus are separated out by cocktail, liquor and special Happy Hour selections and each particular menuis expansive with a wide range of mixed drinks, liquors and creative concoctions from the bartenders. There is truly something for everyone. I started with a St. Germain cocktail: a mix of club soda, champagne and St. Germain elderflower liqueur. The drink was sweet, refreshing and floral as well as light. It was a very easy cocktail to sip on.
