Circa 1886, "Postoffice Street was the portion of the district where the houses of prostitution clustered. This sober, two-bay wide, clapboard "house" with a low-pitched roof and boxed eaves is the last survivor. It was built and owned by Miss Mollie Walters, one of the district's most celebrated madams."-Galveston Architecture Guidebook, pg 41. The 2 story main house has 5 parlors, kitchen & bath with shower downstairs. 9 bedrooms upstairs. Back quarters include two horse stalls. The building needs much renovation. The seller is not cleaning out the property. He will remove some items, but the vast majority of the contents, most of which is hardly useable, will remain. Seller retains 30 days after closing & funding to vacate the property. Being sold in its current condition, no repairs. There are deed covenants preventing demolition.
